On May 9, 2001, in response to the call and movement of God, IMANI Christian Ministries (IMANI) was conceived, formed and born. On that day thirteen individuals, who out of a love for the Lord and a desire to do God’s will, bonded together to carry out the vision, mission, and ministry of IMANI. God Called IMANI to create community and be community, based on faith in God, as revealed in Jesus Christ and faith in each other.

IMANI seeks to bring persons into a real and right relationship with God, as revealed in Jesus Christ. As a result of a wrong relationship with God, humanity is prone to relate wrongly toward itself and all creation. The intent of creation is to be in a harmonious relationship with God and itself. This harmonious relationship is community. It is the mission and ministry of IMANI to bring about community with God, each other and all creation.
If a ministry is to be relevant in creating community, it must be a vision that impacts every aspect of people’s lives. IMANI is more that just a church, Though IMANI embraces the traditional roles of church, that which is worship, teaching, prayer, witnessing, and fellowship; it seeks to do much, much, more. IMANI moves beyond the boundaries of church and seeks to inform and transform every aspect of life.
IMANI is a community ministry guided by faith in God, and the example and command of Jesus Christ. IMANI’s vision is to be a faith based community ministry to individuals and families, impacting every aspect of community life, social, political, economic, and education, modeling the kingdom of God as a living reality based on faith in God.
IMANI seeks to develop lifestyles programs and projects that encourage individual, family and community development. It seeks to establish an environment that helps meet the mechanisms that encourage persons to come together to positively impact their communities.
If the efforts of IMANI are to be successful, IMANI must serve as the catalysis for hope and change. IMANI’s ministries must be seen as avenues to God’s presence and power.
